«Moon River»…

Audrey Hepburn
«Breakfast at Tiffany's»

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
Wherever you're going I'm going your way.

Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end –
Waiting 'round the bend,
My huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

(Henry Mancini & Johnny Mercer)

Adaptación de Pedro Almodóvar
«La Mala Educación»

Moon River… No te olvidaré
Yo no me dejaré llevar
Por el agua, agua turbia
Del río de la luna
Que suena al pasar.

Río y luna / Moon River
Dime dónde están
Mi Dios, el bien y el mal,
Decid.

Yo quiero saber
Qué se esconde en la oscuridad
Y tú lo encontrarás,
Río y luna / Moon River,
Adiós.

Mi luna, ven y alúmbrame,
No sé ni dónde estoy, por qué.
Oigo el rumor de aguas turbias
Que me lleva lejos,
Muy lejos de mí.

Enjoy your Sunday! Rrreeelllaaaxxx!!!…

Just watched it last weekend. An eternal film that will live as long as there are films. Mancini was a great composer of little gems.

May the spirit of a Holy Sunday surround, protect, and nourish your soul today.

Oh you lucky guy! I'm so jealous...
Does this «will» in blue mean you've got yourself a new blog? I do surely hope so! I'll be checking it out right away!...
You know I'm not into religion since long ago, but I thank you very much for your vows on my behalf! It's comforting to know that someone on the other side of the world is thinking of me!
Enjoy your Sunday!
Thanks a lot!

well, you have smoked me out of hiding! I left you a kind message at my still under-construction new home. Your "welcome" was the best homewarming gift I could have asked for!

Off to see a very talented little girl as "Clara" in the Nutcracker.

Did mahler's 5th and Brittains "Sunday Morning" today.

Well, Will, you can change the content of that tag as often as you will: you're in my blogroll already! I'm sure your blog will end up looking great. It's not in vain that an artist is together with you in the process!
Wow! Tchaikovsky in Seattle! Just great! I LOVE his music - and not because he was gay, of course not!
Mahler and Britten: wonderful choice!
(How many other names will I be reading?... Lol!)
Wish you a great week and lots of inspiration to finetune the blog!
Be merry!

Hello dear Jon! No gay guy, I guess, cannot help loving Audrey, the picture and the song. Just impossible. And Andy Wharol, definitely.
If you haven't watched it yet, try «Bad Education» on DVD by Almodóvar! Superb!
I was just now informed my e-mail hasn't reached you yet. But the message says I don't need sending it again. But I will, anyway!
Thank you for being so enthusiastic! I really like that!
Have a great week!
(As to that bunch of unoccupied boys, I believe you/your boss should call the Police. Enough is enough, I think.)

"It's comforting to know that someone on the other side of the world is thinking of me!"

Am I being replaced or forgotten?

Sure looks like it. lol

I love Audery.

Beijos e felicidades!

Now, now, Joel! Am I going to have to face, deal with, and manage jealousy crises? I don't think so! That's definitely NOT my part in this play! Besides, my dear, you're not on the other side of the world, as far as I'm concerned. You're only five hours away! Moreover, did I write «one person»? Nope!!! So?... (Lol!)
Thank you so very much for the kind, beautiful responses! I'm glad you're back in business in the blogosphere! Good for you!
Who could not love Audrey? And the film? And the song?
Have a good night, Joel, and a great week!
I envy you so much because of the snow... You just cannot imagine! You have no idea!
Be merry! :-)

Ricardo, You too will be in my blog roll, once I figure it out.

I need to get Tony set up. I will be posting his paintings (and hopefully teach HIM how to do it) in real time and hope to get him to answer comments people. He has a very kind heart.

My junk will be in the left had column and his in the right.

Blogger Beta is a big improvement.

PS: Will be doing the "Homo-Eros" symphony (Tchaicovsky's 4th) someday for my Saturday Night Soup for the Soul series.

The ballet was a tear jerker seeing her on stage. She hit every mark with perfection like a pro and she is only 10 years old. And she has no fear. She was like a general surveying the landscape that she was about to conqueur. That last word is mis-spelled. I just visited Joel and now already French is coming back out of my brain where it has been in hiding.

It feels so good to have moved out of the blog bathhouse and into a nice blog condo of my own!

Ric, my dear blogger friend! You have found two of my true loves: dear, dear Audrey Hepburn and "Moon River"!! How I loved them both! I even recall dancing with a girl in high school to that song. The girl, with the right push from the right direction, could very well have been my wife.

Even though I haven't seen her for several years and even though she is now married, I often wonder if I didn't make a mistake with her. I even sang, lowely in her ear for no one else to hear, that lovely song as we danced at a ball.

Hmm. Now all I hear is the song "Memories."

Minge disse...

Lovely...

I used to adore George Peppard.

RIC disse...

Hello Will! I hope you'll get everything done in due time.
Great that you enjoyed the ballet. «The Nutcracker» is a beautiful performance.
I'm happy for you, as far as the new blog is concerned.
Best wishes!

RIC disse...

Hello Gray! I'm glad this post has somehow come your way, even though I had no idea of the impact it would have on so many people...
As to «Memories», some people say remembering is to live once again...
Wish you a fine week! :-)

RIC disse...

Hello Minge! Oh yes, George Peppard is gorgeous in the movie! Those two were cut for each other...
A great week for you!

I own Breakfast at Tiffanys. Such fab movie. And La Mala Educacion was vivid, stark and touching. I loved it. The lead's role as the actor and transvestite was to realistic for words.

Hello Kb! This post seems to have turned out to be a success... Little did I know indeed about how fond people are of Audrey, the film, the song, and Almodóvar...
Just fantastic you like them too!
Thanks a lot!
Wish you the best, dear friend! :-)
